my brown eyed girl.

today we took Marlee to the barn for a little outing. I love taking her out, but I always do it during the time of the year whenever snakes are making their way out of hiding, and it scares me a tad.

she looks worried about it too.
this photo is so out of focus, and there's a million things wrong with it - but check out her tongue swaying in the wind.

bless her heart.

it's been awhile since she's been in the water.

sweetheart.

i love days like today.

we grilled hamburgers, and stayed outside past time for the sun to go down.

i love days like today because i can feel summer creeping in, and that makes me happy.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day Twenty Six/Seven!

Ok! I am doing two in one today for a few reasons...

1.) I am rushing the blog challenge to finish by.. well, tonight really.

2.) I have all ready alternated Day 29 (it was supposed to be "Bucket List"), so I wouldn't have a topic for day 29 anyway.

3.) I want to be done by noon Friday so that I can blog about the trip!

Onward....

Day Twenty Six: A photo of your family...

(excuse the fact that the majority of these are graduation photos. They're the most recent.)

immediate family.

"extended family" on mom's side, minus her brother & his wife and son.

(hey, they may as well be family!)

Day Twenty Seven: Pets

the day they brought her home for me =)

this was taken the night before she got sick with parvo. We left her at the vet for 2 days, bless her heart. So thankful she was okay!

(excuse the red eye)

Christmas day with our "beanies" on, and Marlee looking SO interested.

These next few are outtings to the farm!

and most recently! She's smilin' =)

sweet, sweet

country must be countrywide.

I always love being in the outdoors with my daddy. It's one thing that I feel like we share together. Everything I know about the outdoors is due to him. It never gets old being out there because he always has a different story to tell, more history to enlighten me about, and more memories to fill me with. It's so neat to listen to the stories he remembers that took place on the same soil that we stand on as he speaks them to me.
Yesterday we took Marlee out. Daddy wanted to show me around to some changes on our land, and I wanted to take Marlee with me because I neglect her too often. I feel bad for doing that, but sometimes I feel like "life just gets in the way of things" and she gets the blame for it. How crazy is that? What can I say, she is a dog to you & a person to me :) ..She thinks she's a person, too. Ha!

she'll be three on October 29th.

she likes the water.

okay, she may love the water.

her love for water is definitely unconditional.

then she catches a glimpse of daddy or me,

and here she comes...

barreling towards us..

and she just smiles =)

i just love her.

i really, really do.

as much as i love this time of year..

okay, so I definitely love her more, of course, but i do love fall.
